End-user installs now lead with `uv tool install mempalace`, with
`pip install mempalace` kept as a fallback. Dev/contributor docs lead
with `uv sync --extra dev` and `uv run` for tests/benchmarks/lint, with
the equivalent pip recipe kept inline. The shipped `/mempalace:init`
skill instructions (mempalace/instructions/init.md) try `uv tool install`
first when uv is on PATH, then fall back through the pip variants.
Adds a .python-version pin at 3.12 because the lockfile's
onnxruntime==1.24.3 only ships wheels for Python >=3.11; without the
pin, `uv sync` on a host where uv prefers 3.10 fails with no source
distribution available, which would make the documented command a
footgun. pyproject's `requires-python = ">=3.9"` is unchanged — pip
users on 3.9/3.10 are unaffected.
Files updated: README.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, CLAUDE.md, the gemini-cli
guide and example, the .claude-plugin / .codex-plugin READMEs, the
mempalace SKILL, the openclaw SKILL, tools/save.md, the three
benchmarks docs, and the corresponding website mirrors.
The v3.3.4 release prep landed on main but was never merged back into
develop, leaving every version-bearing file one release behind. Bumps
pyproject.toml, mempalace/version.py, both plugin manifests, the
marketplace entry, the README badge, and the lockfile to 3.3.4 to match
the tagged release.
Shell splits hook command on whitespace after variable expansion, breaking
paths with spaces (e.g. C:\Users\Richard M on Windows). Wrapping the path
in double quotes preserves the token boundary.
Fixes the reported Stop/PreCompact pair in .claude-plugin/hooks/hooks.json
and applies the same fix to .codex-plugin/hooks.json (SessionStart/Stop/
PreCompact), which carries the identical bug.
Restore-integrity release. Unbreaks fresh `pip install mempalace` from
v3.3.2 by re-tagging current develop, which carries both the plugin.json
consumer (shipped in 3.3.2) and the matching mempalace-mcp entry point
in pyproject.toml (added on develop ~10h after the 3.3.2 tag via #340
by @messelink). #1093 diagnosed by @jphein.
Bumps (all 5 sources agree per Version Guard / CLAUDE.md):
- mempalace/version.py 3.3.2 → 3.3.3
- pyproject.toml 3.3.2 → 3.3.3
- .claude-plugin/plugin.json 3.3.2 → 3.3.3
- .claude-plugin/marketplace.json 3.3.2 → 3.3.3
- .codex-plugin/plugin.json 3.3.2 → 3.3.3
- CHANGELOG.md new [3.3.3] entry
No code changes. The fix for #1093 is already on develop via merged PRs
#340, #1021, #851, #942, #833, #673, #661, #659, #1097, #1051, #1001,
#945.
Branch name intentionally outside the `release/*` ruleset so follow-up
CI-fix commits aren't gated behind a nested PR. (Supersedes #1143 —
closed for exactly that reason after it missed 3 of 5 version files.)
Smoke-tested locally from a fresh develop clone:
grep mempalace-mcp pyproject.toml .claude-plugin/plugin.json # both ✓
python -m build --wheel # ✓
pip install …-py3-none-any.whl # ✓
which mempalace-mcp # ✓
mempalace-mcp --help # ✓
The MCP server config used `python -m mempalace.mcp_server` which fails
when mempalace is installed via pipx or uv, since the system python
cannot find the module in the isolated venv. Adding a `mempalace-mcp`
console_scripts entry point ensures the MCP server works regardless of
installation method (pip, pipx, uv, conda).

Version bumps across pyproject.toml, mempalace/version.py, README badge,
uv.lock, and plugin manifests (.claude-plugin/*, .codex-plugin/*).
CHANGELOG aligned with main (post-3.3.1) and a new [3.3.2] section added
covering the 11 PRs merged on develop since v3.3.1 — silent-transcript-drop
fix + tandem sweeper (#998), None-metadata guards (#999, #1013),
chromadb ≥1.5.4 for Py 3.13/3.14 (#1010), Windows Unicode (#681),
HNSW quarantine recovery (#1000), PID stacking guard (#1023), doc-path
cleanup (#996, #1012), and RFC 001/002 internal scaffolding (#995, #1014, #990).
Aligns marketplace.json and both plugin.json files with version.py /
pyproject.toml (already at 3.3.0) so `/plugin update` reflects the
v3.1.0/v3.2.0/v3.3.0 tags that had been landing without manifest bumps.
Also updates marketplace.json `owner.url` from the stale
github.com/milla-jovovich path to the current github.com/MemPalace org.
Refs #874
Follow-up to #766 which covers version.py, pyproject.toml, README,
CHANGELOG, and CONTRIBUTING. These 11 files still had the old org
name in URLs:
- website/ (VitePress config + 6 docs pages)
- .claude-plugin/ (plugin.json repository, README marketplace command)
- .codex-plugin/ (plugin.json URLs, README links)
Author name fields are intentionally unchanged.
- Introduced README.md for plugin overview and installation instructions.
- Added hooks configuration in hooks.json for auto-save and pre-compact functionality.
- Implemented stop and pre-compact hooks in bash scripts for memory management.
- Created marketplace.json and plugin.json for plugin metadata and versioning.
- Developed skills and instructions for help, init, mine, search, and status functionalities.
- Added CLI commands for executing hooks and displaying skill instructions.
- Implemented hooks_cli.py for handling hook logic and JSON input/output.
- Enhanced instruction files for user guidance on setup and usage.
- Updated .gitignore to exclude additional files.
- Created GitHub Actions workflow for syncing plugin version on push.
